Center Pensées - French Center for Psychotherapy in Berlin

Gala Munforte

With an integrative approach, I create with the patient a unique care pathway combining the contributions of several approaches, verbal and non-verbal, individual and group, with the objective of working on autonomy, self-presence and its capacity to be. I rely on the needs and requests of the patient taken as a whole rather than on the diagnostic label to identify and transform mental processes. To do this, I use in my practice:

  • individual monitoring with a psychoanalytic orientation rubbed into queer theories,
  • group dynamics, convinced of the power of the group and the social bond in support,
  • and artistic mediations as a field for the development of the imagination, for the work of elaboration and reconstruction.

My practice and my research are nourished by my experiences and my own journey. A defector who passed through the sphere of grandes écoles, I worked in the service of the State as an expert in the field of public health for 10 years. As a result, the world of work remains one of my privileged areas of observation. Having also graduated in philosophy and modern literature, I finally happily chose to devote myself to the study of humans. Trained at the École Pratique des Hautes Études en Psychopathologie, queer, active in feminist and LGBTQIA+ circles, I focused my research on the intersection of gender studies and psychoanalysis. In particular, I am part of the Clinique et Critiques seminar alongside Fabrice Bourlez, Thamy Ayouch and Laurie Laufer, putting psychoanalytic concepts to work in the light of major sociological advances. I worked more particularly on the question of listening and neutrality.

My clinic is based on my commitment to the psychiatry and medico-social sectors. I worked at the Maison Blanche hospital in Paris (GHU Paris-Psychiatry & Neurosciences) and at the Specialized Reception Center (Œuvre Falret) located in 19e district of Paris, as well as at the Specialized Reception Establishment (Œuvre Falret) in Saint-Ouen. I have supported adults with mental disabilities as well as adolescents with mental or neurodevelopmental disorders, with a view to social integration and positive development. This is where I developed group approaches and particularly artistic mediations which fascinated me.

I welcome you to a safe, queer and affirmative neurodivergent space, at your own pace, to support you in creating your own path.
