CBT Therapies
THE TCC or Cognitive Behavioral and Emotional Therapies are brief, scientifically validated therapies that focus on the interactions between:
- Thoughts
- Behaviours
- Emotions
The therapies we offer are part of the 3rd wave of CBT, developed since the 1990s.
This new approach to CBT therapy gives its full place to the subjective emotional experience. We use therapy based on mindfulness (Meditation Mindfullness), schema therapy and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT).
What is CBT therapy?
One of the most effective forms of therapy
Numerous scientific studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of these therapies. There TCC was initially created to help people suffering from depression, but today it is used to improve and manage different types of mental disorders and symptoms (anxiety, bipolar disorder, post-traumatic stress syndrome, obsessive compulsive disorder, addictions and eating disorders, etc.).
Cognitive, Behavioral and Emotional therapy focuses on the importance of thoughts, beliefs, ruminations to determine how we feel and how we act. Analyzing our thoughts allows us to highlight the negative impact of “interpretations” of reality on our quality of life. When we can accurately and calmly examine situations without distortion of reality, judgments about ourselves, we are better able to know how to respond appropriately in order to feel happier in the longer term. These erroneous interpretations of reality are linked to our life experiences, often taking root in our childhood. Together, we identify those thought patterns that push us to act in this or that way and cause us to suffer.
Thus, contrary to certain preconceived ideas, CBT is not based only on the study of the present but is also based on our entire experience, early childhood until today.
CBT is a therapy called “active”. Of the concrete exercises are carried out in session but also at home. Notions of psychology (Psychoeducation) are also presented during the session to help you make sense of your symptoms. You then become master of your suffering by understanding where it comes from, how it is maintained and you practice concrete solutions to move from a vicious circle to a virtuous circle.
5 Benefits of CBT therapy
1. Reduces anxiety
2. Reduces symptoms of depression
3. Helps treat eating disorders (Anorexia/Bulimia)
4. Helps Improve Self-Esteem and Confidence
5. Reduces Addictive Behaviors and Substance Abuse
Conduct of CBT
Therapy begins by setting specific objectives that will guide the choice of therapeutic methods used.
Questionnaires will be given to you at the beginning, in the middle and at the end of therapy to objectively evaluate the progress and progress of the therapeutic work.
The sessions are punctuated by small exercises, to allow you to become fully involved in your therapy and thus allow you to acquire concrete tools to better cope with your difficulties.
Each session begins with a review of the past week and a review of the tasks you completed between sessions.
