Psychologist consultation for children and adolescents
The child
The child is a being under construction where each stage of his development is a great adventure, which is rarely a long, quiet river. The difficulties encountered are often temporary but it sometimes happens that they settle in and the child finds himself suffering. This unhappiness is rarely expressed in words and can manifest itself through certain behaviors or signs that raise questions among those around the child. Thus, it is rare that the request comes directly from the child and usually it is the parents, worried or alerted by those around them, or even the professionals who surround the child, who initiate the request for consultation, in order to better understand the difficulties he encounters.
The reasons for these consultations are multiple: relational difficulties, sleep disorders, enuresis, manifestation of sadness, anxiety... Work with a child always begins with a meeting with the parents, to get to know each other and discuss the reasons which motivated the approach.
Together, we develop the most suitable support for the child. Depending on the situation, it is possible to receive the single parent, before receive the parent and child. Subsequently, during interviews with the child, verbal exchange is favored and depending on the situation, different supports such as games, drawing or story reading can be offered to encourage expression.

The teenager
Adolescence marks the beginning of a process of change, where major physical, cognitive and emotional transformations will combine. Thus, it is a particular phase of both physical and psychological developments. When the adolescent presents difficulties or problems, it may be the expression of suffering or unhappiness that he cannot name as such. The reasons for consultations during adolescence are multiple and varied and may relate, among other things, to withdrawal, changes in school, somatic manifestations, behavioral, sleep or concentration problems, or well still aggressive auto or heterogeneous behavior, but still a loss of self-confidence.
A space for speaking session with a psychologist allows you to present your difficulties, to elaborate around certain questions. Thus, a psychological support can sometimes prove necessary in order to help the adolescent understand what is happening to him/her, to allow them to distance themselves, to associate words with a feeling, or even to be able to enable them to find solutions adapted to their situation.
Whether in the care of children or adolescents, the content of the exchanges is confidential and subject to professional secrecy. However, this does not mean that the parent(s) are excluded and regular meetings are scheduled together, in order to be able to support and understand as best as possible what the child or adolescent is going through. In parallel with the monitoring of the child or adolescent, parents can also be received by the psychologist and heard about their concerns, or supported in their educational choices.
