What I'm proposing

I am a clinical psychologist and have been in private practice in Berlin since 2011. I specialize in the following types of therapy:

  • Individual counseling sessions for adults. The people I see suffer from anxiety, depression, inhibitions, addictions, eating and sleep disorders, conflicts in their personal or social relationships, and various other symptoms. Psychological counseling helps individuals reconnect with their own history, their traumas, their imagination, and their unconscious processes.

  • Couples Counseling. The goal for couples in crisis is to relearn how to talk to and listen to each other in the presence of a psychologist, to examine their journey together, and to explore their relationships with their children and respective families. Decisions can be made without rushing, allowing them to move forward—together or separately—on a new foundation.

  • Professional coaching sessions intended for people experiencing relationship difficulties at work, burnout, or boredom (burnout) or a loss of meaning (brownout). During the sessions, the causes of workplace distress are explored to help chart a more satisfying path forward. Under certain conditions, the cost of professional coaching may be deducted as a business expense on your tax return.

  • Individual Supervision Sessions intended for professionals in the social services and mental health fields. The often demanding work with vulnerable populations draws heavily on the practitioner’s personal resources. Supervision sessions and practice analysis allow practitioners to examine their role, their position, and their own emotions—both to find the right balance and to gain a better understanding of themselves.

I view my specialization in psychoanalysis as a gateway to unconscious processes, the unexpected, and inner creative resources. In a respectful and safe space, a different way of speaking can emerge during a session—one that is free from societal pressures and habitual patterns. In this space, one can say whatever comes to mind without fear of judgment: one is not guilty of one’s thoughts. A key goal is to better accept the consequences of who we are and what we want.

My Professional Background

I received my training at the University of Paris-7, where I earned a Master 2 degree in Clinical and Pathological Psychology. My training included courses in psychopathology, psychoanalysis, differential diagnosis, neurobiology, and the administration of psychological tests, particularly the Rorschach test. It also included internships in psychiatry. Eager to live in Germany, I rounded out my training by completing internships there to learn about German psychiatry. At the same time, I continued my psychoanalytic training, first in Paris at the’Analytics Center, and then, after I moved to Berlin in 2008, at the Freud-Lacan Society and some PsyBi-Berlin.

My professional career in institutional settings has centered on my experience as a psychologist in daycare centers, as well as in supporting individuals with mental health challenges living in therapeutic housing and in the field of prevention for socially marginalized youth. I have also worked as a social worker addressing severe social exclusion in Paris, in the field of mental health in Germany, and with children from socially marginalized families in Poland.

I’ve thus had the opportunity to learn, within a wide variety of institutions, how existing mental health and social service systems operate. This helps me best guide patients in my own practice when necessary. I have always sought to enrich my private practice with hands-on experience that brings me into contact with populations and issues beyond those of my private clientele. At the same time, I continue to conduct research and publish on topics ranging from social clinical practice and the world of work to gender issues and contemporary society. Finally, I regularly lead and participate in interdisciplinary conferences and working groups, as I believe it is essential to continue learning and to critically examine one’s theory and practice through engagement with other approaches.
