What is speech therapy?
Speech therapy is a paramedical profession that assesses and treats language and communication disorders. In France, the areas of intervention for speech therapists are: communication, oral language, written language, mathematical cognition, voice, speech, swallowing and orofacial motricity. Speech therapists can work with people of all ages, from infants to the elderly.
My profile
I'm a speech therapist specializing in neurodevelopmental disorders (ASD, ADHD, specific learning disabilities) and acquired or degenerative neurological disorders. I specialize in speech, articulation, oral and written language, communication, swallowing and orofacial motor skills.
I work with children, adolescents and adults to diagnose and treat oral and/or written language disorders, speech, articulation and swallowing disorders. I also treat children with learning and/or language delays. I also work with people of all ages with autism spectrum disorders. I also offer parenting sessions to address parents' questions and concerns about their child's language development.
My clinical experience is multi-sectoral. I've worked in schools, medical-educational institutes, hospitals, private practice and with companies. My background is also multicultural: I've worked in France, Belgium, Quebec and Togo. These experiences enable me to take a diversified and enriched look at speech therapy. I'm also keen to take part in conferences and research projects on a regular basis, to keep abreast of new developments in speech therapy.
I graduated from the Haute École de Liège (2016) and obtained French equivalence in 2017. I am trained in the PECS, ABA and Makaton methods. I am also trained in EBP (Evidence-Based Practice), which is an integral part of my professional practice.
I don't have the equivalent German diploma, so I can't practice as a speech therapist in Germany. I work in French and can work in English in certain cases. Please contact me for more information.
